my maeve

I’ve been receiving so many lovely emails asking how my little Maeve is going. So here goes:

She’s amazing. She’s adventurous. She’s cheeky. She’s sensitive. She’s strong. She’s a super trooper. She smiles with her humongous teeth. And when she cries, tears weep from her big eyes. She doesn’t like to be told off. And she doesn’t like to share. But, when you’re sad, she’s the first one there to give you a cuddle.

She’s given us so many hurdles. She’s made us laugh with her funny noises. She’s given us a really big scare. And she’s made us oh so proud.

She loves her food. She hates getting dressed. She adores nursery rhymes and those ads on tv that sing. She does the horse sound, but her favourite animal is a bird. She says “hey” to strangers. And she is fascinated with other kids.

Her favourite song at the moment is “thrift shop” + she loves to have a boogie. She loves visiting + having visitors. She’s a real people person. She’s often mistaken for a boy, but we don’t care. She doesn’t really like to wear pink.

Most of all she’s taught me to just be free. To enjoy each day and not to take anything for granted.

She’ll be turning one soon. What a lucky, little girl she is!

Hi Chris, I was just looking at your website after seeing the Standfield family gorgeous photos on Facebook and realised you have a little girl named Maeve. SO DO I! Except she is not so little any more, she is now 9 years old. Your photos are beautiful. I will have to get you to do some photos for us one day. Maybe when the grass is a bit greener and we get some rain here in South Gippsland!
